Flow yoga combines meditation, breath-work, and movement. Classes begin with gentle movements, then progress to more challenging sequences, including standing poses, balances, inversions, and peak poses. Flow yoga has no set sequence, so teachers get creative with targeting body areas, themes or abilities, like strength, flexibility, or balance. Depending on the teacher, classes can be strong or slow. Vinyasa Flow is the most popular, but Inside Flow is gaining popularity. Breath synchronization maximizes the benefits, creating a moving meditation and providing focus and freedom from distraction. Meditation and breath-work are woven throughout all flow yoga practices.
